Fights and Feuds

Conrad, this week’s leader of Consortium fame, chose the subject of “Friends and Enemies”.

I challenge any of the consortium and its readers to think of an enemy in their lives – and I guarantee you that you won’t find even ONE measly one. You might be able to name people you wish you’d never met, are disappointed in, detest, despise, fight, hate, have arguments with, but an ENEMY? Most unlikely.

  1. The only enemies I have are terrorists. And even they can’t help themselves. They believe what they do is the best way –to get the world into their religion.

    • Bike Hike Babe, maybe I misunderstood the question Conrad asked. I thought he was talking about personal enemies, not public ones.

      • Opps– I copied my comment here & put it on his post. Now he’ll know I didn’t read his post.

I noticed that when someone is a little curt with me, the next time I see them, they are extra nice. Must be their mood. I used to not like them at the time, instead of seeing that they are just in a bitchy mood.

I think of an enemy as someone who wants to do evil to you (like kill you-terrroist). I can dislike a person & like them much another time.

  2. Ooops! I completely forgot to write a post for the consortium….. IIRC my mind was not working on the lines of personal enemies any way…

However, nothing like a challenge. Do I have any personal enemies? I did at school, certain fellow pupils were most definitely enemies and certain teachers too. At least one of the latter I despise to this day and if I met him I would tell him so to his face and in no uncertain terms. At his age it would be a most certain punishment for the wrong he did me with most definite malice and relish on his part. He even took it to the extreme of extending his hatred to my sister when she attended the school.
    So yes, a personal enemy.
I can think of one other person whom I would put into that category. A person who ultimately sought to destroy my career and livelihood with the assistance of others who should have known better.
That is all I am willing to say. You’ll just have to wait for the book.
