Bitch on the Blog

Do you know what I like about myself other than all the other things I like about myself?

My concept of time has been shot to bits, gone to pot. All day today I laboured under impression it’s Sunday. Except I read the papers yesterday. Personally I blame my mother. She never calls me on a Sunday. Only Saturdays. However, she called me yesterday. No wonder my mind is messed up.

I also hear voices. It’s awful. Keep being awoken by son calling out circa 4 in the morning “MAMA”.  Naturally, once conditioned after giving birth and sleep ever elusive, I find myself shouting “Coming”, jumping out of bed (no bull) – only to find him either fast asleep or – worse – realising he is not even in the house. Getting worried. Onset of schizo no doubt (ask Con).

  1. About mixing up days. Happens all the time to me. One of our favorite jokes is the woman who phoned her local newspaper to chew them out because she hadn’t received her Sunday paper.

    “But Ma’am, today’s Saturday.”

Oh, crap! That’s probably why there was no one at church either.”

    • Ooh! I like that….. As I read the post I found myself thinking, “But yesterday was Sunday…it’s mon…oh no it’s not. Can’t have been it was x’s birthday and her birthday was due on Monday so it must have been.”

  2. All those years it was — the kids aren’t in school, husband is home—so it must be Saturday. I don’t have that anymore.
