Bad fit

Some people (Americans) postulate that we should live in the moment.

THIS moment is not so good. I have spent the last hour (one hour of my life) after having changed the fuse (3 amp) trying to put the two parts of the plug together again. No give. And despite the fact that I am female – and contrary to what’s expected of my gender –  I am NOT spatially challenged. Give me a tight parking space and I’ll be yours. Three point turn? Why not make it two and a half?

You know what? This minute I WISH I WERE A MAN.  Even if short fused. After which I will swap gender again. For heaven’s sake! What is it I am doing wrong? And why is it not in my nature to give up and buy a new lamp instead?

  1. Put it to one side for a while and try again later. Those little things can be right buggers. I think they do it on purpose.

    • Thanks, Magpie. I knew blogging was good for something: No sooner had I cried at your accumulated shoulders no sooner did I realise where I’d gone wrong. It does pay to look at a problem from ALL sides.

      Enlightened once more,

  2. For the wanting of a fuse the plug was lost, and for the wanting of a plug the lamp was lost and… Well perhaps a new lamp would be a good idea, but with practice the perfection of fuse changing becomes an absolute breeze… Never change bitchontheblog I like you just as you are, well not just me, everyone does, oh apart from that ‘Nick’ character but we will omit him as he is just a waste of space, I wonder what his fuse changing skills are like? No, we won’t even go there as it is bound to be a hopeless scenario and besides I could easily show you the simplistic art of fuse changing, and let you choose another lamp as a bonus… Oops I nearly added a smiley there…

Have a delightful rest of Friday and a wickedly enjoyable weekend also…

  3. I rather like your persistence.

  4. U, living in the moment simply means being fully aware. Seems to me that you are fully aware of your fuse challenge. The Buddha would be proud! 😉

By the way, there are millions of others around the word who espouse living in the moment, and fairly few Americans by comparison. The East is better at this than the West, by far.

  5. Did I say that it was simplistic changing a fuse, well it is but if the wire
has snagged on something and it needs to be re-fitted, then that is usually
easy to navigate too, however even the very organised and intricately
natured Goth had a job sorting a pesky plug out this very morning, but don’t
worry I managed it, eventually… Okay seeing as I am getting to be a dab
hand at NOT adding the smileys I think that I deserve a bit of something,
maybe a cuppa or a chocolate biscuit, so grab a packet and make us a brew U

    Be good also, or else?

    • You are doing very well, Androgoth Your observance of “No smileys” on this blog SWELLING your decidedly down in the mouth chart of smiling gold stars, Kinky yet goth. If you can’t make sense of the last sentence don’t worry: I can. But then it’s MY mind tying itself into knots.

Brew? Androgoth, there is so much brewing on well manured ground, am spoilt for choice which crumbs to throw the starved’s way.

First I need to go to the fishmongers. Catch them cold. Shiny eyes. Bright gills. Thinking of which: Next time I go done a dark alley instead of my black belt I’ll swing a herring – three days after capture, refrigerator’s fuse blown. Talk about weapons of stinking destruction. Should send any self respecting carnivore in the wrong direction.

      • Anything that has ‘Kinky’ and ‘Goth’ in the same sentence has to be something
rather positive so even if I do not fathom everything that you say on the very first
glimpse I know that you are just adding your own brand of wickedness, which is
always acceptable to me U especially when one is wielding a stinky herring…

Be Good, Be Wicked, and above all… Behave Yourself
