Seek and you shall find. Yeah, well, pull the other one. It doesn’t always work.

I spent the last twenty minutes searching for my favourite knife (it’s small). So small I took the garbage apart. One does throw things out with peel. I know. I do it all the time. The things you do for love [of a knife]. It wasn’t in the garbage. Neither have I chopped my onion yet. Yes, I know it’s half past nine. A woman is nothing without her knife. However, I knew blogging is good for something. I thought to throw myself at your sturdy shoulders in my moment of need, and what do you know: There it is [the knife] on my desk. Why on my desk? I don’t know. Maybe it formed a bond with an apple, also on my desk. So thanks for that, Sweethearts. May your dinner taste as great as the one I have haven’t yet started cooking but the Angel will devour on his return.

Hugs and kisses,

U

    • Thanks, Con. Am in rapture. I marvel at how happy we can be at just standing still: You lose something, you find it. Meaning you are in the same spot as BEFORE. Only twenty minutes later. Why feel so happy?

Dinner met expectation. Which is high. Just noticed that wordpress hasn’t adjusted to British Summer Time. Not that it matters.

  2. May be that you just felt like stabbing the monitor for some reason or the other?

    • Ramana, contrary to possible perception I never stab anything. I am a bloody peacemaker; Henry Kissinger’s and Hilary Clinton’s lovechild. Ask Grannymar. Even she gave in to my wooing her for three years.

What’s today’s subject? When will it be three o’clock?

  3. Herself cam home from looking after “She Who Thinks” to find a small paring knife had disappeared. No doubt it will turn up in someone’s garden having been throught the miunicipal composting process. Therea re two other paring knives on the magnetic rack.
I know that feeling of delight at finding something mis-laid….even after years but oh the misery that can precede the finding. Am currently in mourning for the loss of Tramp (lf The Lady and fame). A small porcelain figure of said hound no longer in the old biscuit tin in which he had sojourned since about 1960. He seems to have run off with a lion (I’m a Leo) a penguin and a frog called Julia.

I’m glad dinner was up to scratch….. wine?

    • So sorry about the tramp and assorted menagerie. Still, freedom is theirs. And freedom is the one gift we should bestow on each other. Whether to our parents, partners or our children (in fact, especially our children).

Considering how fond you are of birds I have just remembered that I “inherited” a figurine of three little birds. If they were blue I’d guess they are blue tits. As it is they are green, and I have never heard of green tits. When I moved eighteen months or so ago the removal men managed to lose a whole box full of my favourite crockery. Unfortunately that figurine wasn’t in there. Instead of which it is now nestling at the back of a dark cupboard.

      • Tramp (along with Lady from the same range of Wade figurines) has reasonable monetary value. This is part of the reason for my sense of loss. I could buy a reasonable bottle of plonk (if that is not an oxymoron). I do have the rhinocerous still and have just remebered that my elephant has disappeared too.

        • Apropos of nothing, but something in your reply reminding me: When I was little one of my uncles gave me a necklace. Given that he lived in South Africa it was, as expected, made of ivory. Even if I did want to wear it which I don’t (I wear little jewellery) I wouldn’t be able to since it’s made to measure for a four year old’s neck circumference. I am not sentimental about it so tried to sell it. And what did I learn: In this day and age you cannot sell ivory. People won’t touch it. Or maybe I move in the wrong circles.
