Lighten up

Piece of advice to models on the catwalk, Victoria Beckham and most gays: SMILE.

Looking glum doesn’t make you more sophisticated. It makes you look, well, glum. Boring and, frankly, if you keep it up, plain stupid.

  1. If the models smiled, you’d be admiring Them. Not the clothes. After all they are beautiful. The models that is. You’re suppose to notice that the Clothes are beautiful.

    • Interesting and original point, Bike Hike Babe, that a smile might detract from the clothes. Never thought of it like that before.

Mind you, whilst models might just be clothes hangers, it doesn’t explain why the front row at the big fashion shows, not least Anna Wintour (Vogue), also can barely muster a smile, a flicker of animation or excitement. But then Haute Couture is serious business. And they’ll all be really good at funerals.

      • U. doesn’t like those. I used not to like LOLs. Like telling a joke & then saying, “Now laugh”. I found out people took me seriously when I was joking.

      • It’s ok, Bike Hike Babe. There is a mischievous side to Jean. I dare say she is not averse to needling me a little.

Funny thing is, and I hope Jean will read this: For the first time in my life I was delighted (yes, really) to find her smiley in my comment box. She hasn’t commented for so long that I’ll forgive her anything. Better one smiley than nothing at all.
