I don’t like people who count pennies. Yes, that does include the most delicious of James Bonds, Sean Connery.

I am cooking dinner and the radio station I am listening to is playing: “I can’t get no satisfaction.” Well, Mick. I am not surprised. Give me Keith Richards any time.

  1. You think Keith Richards is a finer specimen than old Mick? Hmmm. I wouldn’t want any of them. They sing about heart matters (mostly), but these band guys are singing from their throats, wallets, and other parts down south of the heart. Yeah, they’re into collecting alright. I’ve never been a collector or one to like nick knacks.

    • Keith Richards is definitely the finer specimen. I have an acid test. One which I have only ever shared, and not that long ago, with one other person dear to me. Why not put out it here for all the world to see. My very personal acid test. How close I’d let a person come to me. And I am elusive.

The Acid Test: Who I’d take to a desert island. Without having to look over my shoulder.

Well, I’d most certainly not take Mick Jagger. I won’t go into detail. Keith Richards? Yes. He’d be most welcome as guest in my cast away scenario. Kind, thoughtful, fun, reliable. And yes, I do know he looks like his own skeleton, but he does have stamina. Ozzy Osbourne may join us too. Though that’ll largely depend on Sharon. Remind me to take a spade in case I need to dig both their graves. A body can only take so much.

  2. I lOVE to hear Mick sing Can’t Get No Satisfaction. And my major in college was Organ. Before that 12 years of weekly hour lessons in piano from Juilliard School of Music graduate, teacher. That makes me an expert of music. Mick has a beat like Bach (which I love). Take away Jazz.:( It has no structure, like poured honey.

    • As definitions for music go I have to say, BHB, you have beaten all critics known to me: ” Jazz …no structure, like poured honey”. That’s inspired. Will now ponder this whilst listening to the Blues.

      • I don’t like organ music played like poured honey either, all the notes running together. Each note should be held to 3/4th of it’s value. This makes it crisp & clear. (My professor left & became a monk that doesn’t speak, a few years after I graduated. I’ll look that up & see if they NEVER speak. He must have played the organ all day to hear sound.)

        • I googled it briefly. (no time) In some monasteries a “vow of silence” is done. That could mean never talking, but mostly monks just shut up & speak only when necessary. No idle chatter, ( gossiping or telling dirty jokes. Haha)
