I pride myself, and am glad, that I am not competitive or given to jealousy.

Don’t talk too soon.

There is more than one out there whose female readership keeps my blood on a gentle simmer. Where I just smile they pull lascivious faces. Bending backwards. If you want to bend backwards take up gymnastics.

  1. The occasional jealous pang slips in occasionally, but mostly I am not prone to the green-eyed monster either. When other people are successful, it proves it can be done and I’m happy for them.

    • To re-iterate, and one of my few saving graces: I am not given to jealousy. Yet, by golly, when it has you in its grip it is unpleasant. I don’t begrudge anyone ‘success’. But, and since you, Renee, are a writer you might weave this into one of your story lines: How to be Ms Independent yet having to acknowledge that we’d like to be number one (not blood related) in someone’s life.

  2. Not prone to jealousy, U? Wasn’t it you who challenged me to a duel over our Phil? I believe that was my first introduction to you. And a memorable one at that! 😉

    • Thank you for reminding me, Lorna. Be fair – there was YOUR Phil (not to be shared) and OUR Phil. Cut up into bite sized portions. Have since come to conclusion that whilst I do not mind sharing anything with anyone sometimes it’s nice to have that cup cake to yourself. Which is why it’s important to bake more than you can scoff.
