Picking apart at the seams – 1

A fellow blogger states, in answer to the question what she would change about herself:

“Nothing. People seem drawn to me warts and all.”

Sweethearts, I am gasping. I like confidence, I like arrogance – in others and myself. But that, her, statement smacks of a self satisfaction unrivaled. Let me spell it out: OF COURSE people are drawn to us – warts and all. Otherwise we’d all be lonely zombies walking this earth alone. But to have the chutzpah to say she wouldn’t change ANYTHING about herself? It’s breathtaking.

      • Aged six my teacher chose me to play the “First Shepherd” in th school nativity play: from the bcak of the class someone said, in a broad Norfolk accent. ” Miss. He can’t dew thet. He talk proper.” Of course the sayer was right… in those days no shepherd would have “talked proper”. Nowadays it might well be a middle class “goodlife” activity.
as for with whom I will converse…. I’m not proud, I’ll even talk with Lizzy Windsor if need be. One thing my boarding school did give me was the ability to talk to anyone, in English ofc ourse. The last time I used french in anger was when I was about 17. The wouldn’t let me learn german or latin.

  2. What was the context in which this question was asked. If I have that in detail, some comment can be made which will otherwise be improper.
