What’s that cloak called that those repentant wear? Whatever. I repent. I am in the dog house. No, I am in the Dock house. As one is. More of which once I have traced location of my smelling salts.

    • I knew there was a reason why I am not religious, Ramana: The get-out clause too easy. A bit like my eight year old self made to stay behind at school having to write one hundred lines of something I shouldn’t have done. Funny thing is: Writing one hundred times what you should NOT have done reinforces the undesirable.

My teacher at the time – aptly named, loosely translated: Mrs Judge. Wonder how she and her maker are getting on these days. Maybe, in the first ante chamber to hell, she is made to write a million times: I should not have made Ursula write the same stupid sentence over and over again – in ink – and then have the gall to criticize her handwriting.

      • Thanks for that, David. One of my nephews was christened Benito. Minus the Saint. If my sister had chosen Adolf instead my father’s fit couldn’t have been more momentous. Still, 21 years on Benito is Benito and will never be a Mussolini.
