Bitch on the Blog

Hold your fire

To put someone down effectively you have to be funny.  Otherwise it won’t work. It’s why I like Gore Vidal. Unfortunately he is dead. And Tennessee Williams. He too is dead. People will let you down.

GG, and he is not the only one, called me ‘a looker’. This is rich coming from a gay guy. I was flattered. Let me not go off topic. Topic being, and I shouldn’t be laughing: Looks. Yes, so some Royal was born the other day and someone commented on her parents, saying that by the ‘looks’ of them she won’t be a looker. How much more cruel can you be? On all fronts. Being the scientist I am not I quickly computed that, given genes tend to jump a generation, she will not look like one of her parents. Not at all. She’ll look like her grandmother. I shan’t elaborate on this since I am going through a terrible spell of paranoia: The Mafia is onto me.

  1. Psst! Stop waving your hands about….. then the Mafia won’t notice you….

Personally I reckon that the two parents ain’t that bad looking…… She’s very 2English” Rose in a slightly teutonic way and I know women who reckon he’s a superb specimen of beefcake or something>

Now, the nitty gritty… we only have one picture of your good self to judge by but I suspect that GG is not far off being correct…. add to that a very nice intellect and you’ll do!

  2. Oh! I forgot… Mr Churchill always had a good line in putdowns.

  3. That is silly. The real put down is when someone tells you that it is a pity that your child does not look like the milkman. Has happened to me a number of times.
