“When one door closes another one falls off”. My sentiment entirely.

Not as bad as it sounds. Like a cat chasing her own tail I am easily entertained.

  1. I certainly prefer that one top the standard another door opens BS. I just hope my fingers are not in the way whenever any door closes.

    • Fingers. Good point, Chuck. Try and remove a hot oven tray unscathed. The other day I was faced with a serious choice. Between kitchen and table: Sacrifice my fingers (oh my god was that dish hot) or the meal. I decided in favour of my cooking. The Angel was hungry. And wounds/blisters can be licked at one’s leisure. Later.

Then, of course, and it’s my pet hate: You leave (usually in the kitchen) a cupboard door open. Only to bend down to fetch something else. Come up for air. To a blood bath when top of your head being kicked in. I can still feel the dent (never bothered to have it stitched). Doesn’t matter: The hole is covered by my hair. Eventually, after years of accidents, paranoia sets in. You wish for sliding doors. In the meantime don’t bend down. And get some new oven gloves.

    • Ramana, I have never reflected on the impact of plastic on one’s flexibility. But will do now. Thanks. Try not to microwave yourself.

  3. Now I have a comedy routine playing in my brain ….. another take on the one where one door is closed and the other one opens so that one is closed and the first one….. now the falling door is replaced and the frst one…….

  4. If you slam a door & that causes another door to fall off, you probably need a new house.
