You can’t beat it. Someone just asked me what the last word of the Old Testament is.

What do I know? By gut instinct I thought ‘curse’. But that’s unkind. So I opted for ‘Amen’.

It’s curse.

  1. Going out on a high note.

    • What do you mean, Friko: HIGH note? My beloved music teacher, she actually did sing professionally in her spare time, desperately trying to recruit for the school choir made me a tenor in absence of boys. Tenor? At age 17? I would have preferred the more elegant Alt. Still, considering that I don’t know one note from the next I just sang. For her. Otherwise you wouldn’t have seen me dead in that music room after school hours. Yes, how you remember wonderful people in your life. By now she’ll probably be putting an Angel in the Bariton section of her heaven.

  2. If you insist. And I agree.

    • I am alarmed when people “insist”. On what? As long as you “agree”.

  3. I would have been wrong with ‘The End’ then? Actually, my first thought was ‘damnation’.

    • Yes, Scarlet. Experienced minds think alike. There is little difference between hell, damnation and curse.

      The End.

  4. Given the tone of the whole volume, “curse” was an excellent gut response. I guess the writers were going for “tragedy” not a happy ending…
