Jack in the Box

Forget “beginnings” in my last aborted post. Ends is where it’s at. It speaks volumes for my mind’s capacity that I can’t remember what I wrote. I therefore take great comfort from my mother’s words “If you can’t remember, it wasn’t important.” No doubt she was/is right – however, whilst I don’t take myself THAT seriously, I do hate to deprive mankind of all those pearls of mine – some of which are lost on swine.

As of this morning all is well, all is good. Unless technology throws another spanner into my workings trying to shut me up and down I’ll be throwing myself onto the page with customary abandon. If that sounds like a promise – it is.

  1. Hail Fair Maid and all that… good to “hear” from you. That always struck me as an odd response to a non oral communication..

Taking onseself seriously? One surly has to do it from time to time? I know I do and then usually end up rejecting what Imight have learned from theexperience..

Looking forward to more of your pearls…

    • “Fair Maid” is good. Though am willing myself to cultivate a Susan Sontag streak of white hair. It ain’t going to happen any time soon.

You are “looking forward to more of [my] pearls”? My dear Magpie, at the moment I am down the mines, trying to locate diamonds, the file to smooth rough edges misplaced. I wish I were in Colorado. Or somewhere – sifting gold nuggets knee deep in water. Better than being an extra in Zola’s “Germinal”.

  4. Not necessarily. Had this discussion very recently with a bunch of older parents and outcome and overall satisfaction with parenting was quite mixed.
