It’s been long in the making. Now it has dawned on me.

Parents of more than one child please do take note: Just because one or two of your children give you grief, demand your constant attention, doesn’t mean that the rest of your brood is immune to life’s vicissitudes.

  1. The ones who prove themselves capable are often forgotten but it’s often better to forge through as best you can than accept help which comes with expectations

    • I wouldn’t say “forgotten”. In fact, probably more appreciated – but at what cost?

I’d never wring my two sisters’ necks but would like to get them round the table and bang my fist on it. They are so obtuse, so self absorbed, they don’t actually realize the (emotional) anguish they cause my parents. One day, latest when we bury one of my parents, I’ll tell them, face to face, that sometimes in life it takes very very very very little effort to make a HUGE difference to someone’s happiness. In this case, my sisters’ parents. It’s shameful. One day they will see it for what it is (or, judging by recent performance, they won’t). Unfortunately, even if they do, water doesn’t flow back up the mountain.
