Bitch on the Blog

Non sequitur

Just came across a quote on someone’s blog. “Good things will come to good people”. That is such utter tosh, belied by all evidence, I don’t know what to do with myself.

I wish people would think before they regurgitate that which sounds good at first sound, and is rubbish on reflection.

  1. That’s why people have invented the idea of an afterlife. Surely justice has to prevail sometime, if not now maybe after we are dead?

    • An interesting, and unexpected, spin you put on my “outrage”. Funnily enough just as I went into the kitchen to take my spleen out on washing some dishes I thought of you, Jean. Wondering what you’d make of it.

“Afterlife”. A bit like the concept of Karma. Slippery. Never to be substantiated as we won’t know once dead. Justice? The holy grail. Leaving the law and its intricacies aside, why do we trust that there is (divine) justice? There isn’t. You know the saying, and I like it, “Love is where it falls”. Same with justice. It’s scatter brained. Absent minded. Myopic. No rhyme, little reason. I’d like to say “instinctive” but no, that only applies to love, not justice.

Anyway, Jean (the scientist), since when do you play devil’s advocate?

    • No devil’s advocate, just common sense. That’s the way the human mind works.

  2. it fits in with the insanity that says you can manifest whatever you want by thinking about it.

  3. You’re telling me. I get very tired of all those glib pieces of advice and aphorisms people put on Facebook and elsewhere, most of which are obvious nonsense. They’re all very self-righteous and preachy and I don’t know why they bother.

  4. “Good people die young.” should be your comment on the blog post.

    • That’s brilliant, Ramana. Thanks for making me laugh out loud. Why didn’t I think of that comment myself? Mind you, it wouldn’t have made any difference because the person in question deletes me on principle. She detests me so much that even when I whisper sweet nothings she sends me down the plug hole. Before Jean gently reprimands me by asking why I am wasting my time, I hasten to add that I don’t say anything any longer on that blog. Brings the proverbial church mouse to mind; some people’s emotional bandwidth and intellectual scope somewhat impoverished and self limiting.

  5. My question would be why you’d self flaggelate on blogs that are pedantic and deletious (word!) of your insights.

I’ve seen much goodly goods descend on the heads of baddy-bads over the years. And vice versa.

And I do like the comments on after life vengeance. Everywhere. ‘E’ll get ‘is. No he won’t.
