I promised Nick, on a third party’s blog – a blog he uses not only to tell the world and their readers, repeatedly in recent days, stoking animosity towards me, that he has had it with my “long winded, sanctimonious” and else (take your pick) comments – that I would meet him on my blog if he has anything to say to me face to face rather than trying to ignite fires where there is barely kindle.

This reminds me that what you say to someone is less important than how you say it. The non-verbal cues often convey a stronger message.

I agree with you in principle, Looney. As they say in the motherland: “Der Ton macht die Musik.”
However, some people are tone deaf. Nothing wrong with that as long as the tone deaf acknowledge that they are [tone deaf] compounding their misfortune by being blind to their lack of hearing, lack of observational skills, lack of good will and lack of willingness to read between lines, lack of generousity of mind, lack of employing benefit of the doubt, aided and abetted by abundant absence of the fairy dust of intelligence (emotional and otherwise) … I could go on … But I am no Stockhausen to exhaust the tone blind.
